This book changed my life! Its amazing that a business man from the 40's and 50's can change your perspective on effective communication in the new millennium. After reading this book and talking about it with other people, I found out that in many schools, it is a mandatory read in high school. Which it should be. I still reference this book in day to day struggles with personal and professional relationships. I am often quoted as saying, "What would Dale Carnegie do?"
Must own For self-improvement in your social dynamics and relationship skills, particularly employees, this is a book that must be read over and over.
Time tested. Like a grandfather's words of wisdom.
Give it to your sons to remember you for ever Treat this book like a treasured gift, share it with those you care for. It is an enjoyable read and should be a mandatory primer for all students as well as adults. I wish someone would develop it for younger children.

1937 Classic Self-Improvement Book Dale Carnegie may be long dead but his words still live on with even greater energy in this present day. People are still seekers and are still looking to improve their own lot in life. What better place to start that then with your self. His advice is plain and simple but it all has that ring of truth - as with all great words of advice. Getting people to listen to others - now there is a message that needs even more attention in today's world.
His book may seem to be some sort of "pop psychology" but it much more than that and it has proven over time to be an instrument of self-awareness for those who follow his advice. I enjoyed this book back in 1961 when I first read it. Then I liked it even more in 1971 and 1984 and 1990 and 2001 when I read it again and again. It seems that each time I read it I get a renewed appreciation for what he was saying. I also pick up on something new from the book, which is hard to believe - I think maybe it has something to do with growing older and seeing life from a different level of life experiences.
This is a classic book that should be read by all high school and college students to add some value to their life journey. Gift this book to those people in your life whom you love - and more importantly to those who do not love you! This book will change you and it a small way it has already changed the world.
