Everything you wanted to know about Leopard but didn't know where to look
I did not think that the Tiger Missing Manual could be beaten but it has been. I pre-ordered this book as soon as I got Leopard and thought I had learned a lot on my own. I was wrong. In the first few chapters I learned more than I thought possible. This book is great for a new user and great for a reference book. I keep it on my night stand for quick look ups.

Excellent! Great instructions for home networking.
I pre-ordered this book and it was worth the wait. I have only had this book for three days, but have been incredibly impressed with what I have read so far. Once again, Pogue and his team have written a clear and concise but exhaustive book on a complicated subject. I enjoyed the Missing Manual for Tiger, but as you may know, Apple changed a lot when it introduced Leopard, including an entirely new approach to firewall & security, networking (no more NetInfo), and backing up your drive (TimeMachine), and "300 New Features" that the Apple propaganda machine is so fond of.

While I have only scratched the surface of the Leopard Missing Manual, it squarely addresses all of the items I need help with, such as setting up a network with Macs and PC's, securing that network, sharing a networked hard-drive, syncing information between calendars, sharing a network printer, and many more "How do you. . . ?" with which I have struggled in converting my small law firm from PC's to Macs.

I was already familiar with Tiger, but Apple made some decisions and added some features to Leopard that are not intuitive - at least to me. In just three days The Missing Manual has been already been a great resource both for the things I knew how to do in Tiger and for the things I am trying to do for the first time in Leopard.

I think this book is equally useful for the new Mac user and for the grizzled Mac veteran who is learning the new tricks of Leopard. I highly recommend this book, and if you have an iPhone, pick up the Missing Manual for that as well.

Another great book from Pogue press
Pogues books on Mac keep getting better and better. This book covers all of the features in Leopard in detail. For those that have used Tiger the missing manual will not be disappointed at all by this book.

For the new Mac user this book covers all of the essentials to get started. It also gives you the tools to go in depth with Leopard. For the experienced Mac users there is still so much valuable information here to make it well worth the purchase.

There are so many new features that are not intuitive in Leopard. This book helps you through these with ease.
The book is methodically laid out in an order that makes sense. It is filled with tips and how to's . For the user coming from Windows to Mac this book will be a tremendous help.

As with all Pogue press books this is very easy read. It is detailed but not comber sum. There are so many new features in Leopard that this book is a must. Pogue press produces the best Mac books consistently and this is no exception.
