It a paranormal book in my opinion BUT... I loved it! I think it's going to be bette than the Circle series which I really loved until the last book. It's about 3 boys, who were born on the same day and arelike brothers that accidentally unleash an evil into the world, but they also released the presence that was containing that evil and of course, flash forward almost 21 years: they meet up with 3 women who are also mysteriously involved in the drama that is unfolding in this little town....I can't wait to see what happens next!
Not quite absurd I have been on the fence about NR books for the last five years. While I quit buying her hardback long ago because of the violence, and proliferation of serial killers I couldn't completely quit her trilogies. When she on the mark who can forget her wonderful humor and realistic dialogue.
I am not against magic in books. ESP books are a weakness of mine. But over the last couple of years the fight between good and evil has become absurd. In this book we have the heroines/hero throwing rocks to make a point with the demon.
Also the introduction of good vs evil has been detrimental to the characterization. More time is spent on the evil demon popping up all over town then the relationship between the hero and heroine and the other characters. I have to agree that the trilogies are no longer romance books. I wish she could go back to writing books like Daring To Dream etc.
As another reviewer mentioned very little is know about the heroine, and just a little more about the heroes. And I personally don't like the sextuplet introduction in the first book. It takes away the romance and suspense when you know that okay Quinn and Kaleb are a couple so that makes Layla and Fox the next couple and that leaves Cybil and Gage.
While I bought this book new, I have no big burning desire to find out the rest of the story. Nothing really pulled me in.
I like the change... I really like the route that Roberts is taking with her new books. She's really starting to develop better, darker plots, and I think that the paranormal really showcases her ability to bring a reader into the story. At some points in the beginning, I had to keep the lights on in every room of my apartment. The characters and the plot are only just developing, so I really do think, and hope, that this is going to be one book split in to three parts, ala Tolkien. Definitely looking forward to The Hollow this may
She can really pull me in! I have read almost all of Nora Robert's published works. I know her formula, I know her syntax. But she still surprises me. Again and again. With everything she does.
This is no exception.
I am THERE. With every scene. I am there.
