Another must have for the beginner photographer who wants to get started quickly! I have it. What I like about it is it gets straight to the point. You want to learn about how to take a certain type of photo? It tells you how to do it. It's like a recipe book for getting specific types of photographs that you want. The binding in the book could be better, but that's a manufacturing issue, not a content issue. For content I give it 5 stars. For the book binding (or lack therof), 2 stars. (Mine started falling apart the 3rd or 4th time I leafed through it, unfortunately.)It's still worth having, though, for those times when you know what kind of shot you want and have no idea how to get. Great for beginner DSLR users.
Good Book, especially for Beginners I found this book very informative. He's humurous approach is sometimes distracting but I guess this makes reading more fun. I couldn't believe that such basic things could be so much more! Book is not like other materials which makes a beginner overwhelmed. I've read so many books, but his book, made me understand and comprehend more what the other books I read meant (hope this doesn't confuse anyone reading this). For me, it gave that, "so, now I understand what the other book was talking about". I just hope there was more..but I suppose Book 2 would provide that :) Beginners would definitely find this book very useful and a good tool to start learning. I suggest before reading anything else, start with this one first, light but informative. Will teach you the basics which would be a good building block.
Excellent Book I really enjoyed this book. It's informative but fun. Scott Kelby has got a great sense of humor and his writing style reflects that.
The best choice for begginers Definitly this is the book if you know nothing of digital photography other than the point-and-shot technique.
It takes you step by step to the best way to use all those complicated options in a semi-pro or pro cameras.
Even teachs you how to do all that non-technical tricks that makes a picture looks like taken by a pro.
I just wanted to take better day by day pictures (parties, b-days, travels, special ocations) and this book fits perfect.
