Amazingly Awesome
I found the book to be more deep in emotion than the first book in the series. I really could connect to the emptiness that Bella felt in the beginning....although I don't think I would go diving off a cliff because of it. The beginning was a bit slow compared to the fast pace of the first book in the series, but I really enjoyed exploring a whole new "mythological" element of this storyline. The book began to pick up speed as the story got closer to the end. I was very pleased with the ending, and couldn't put the book down. I went to bed thinking of reading, and woke up just waiting for the moment I could sit and read it more. Great Read!

GREAT SEQUEL.......!!!
At the conclusion of Twilight, Bella Swann has narrowly escaped death at the hands of evil "tracker" vampire James; her life is saved by her vampire boyfriend Edward Cullen, who also kills her attacker. When Bella falls and cuts herself at birthday party in her honor and Edward finds himself having to physically restrain his brother Jasper, he realizes that his involvement in her life has exposed her to all types of otherwordly horrors. The reality is that Bella is a human being with blood running through her veins...and the love of her life and his family are vampires. So Edward decides to make the ultimate sacrifice...and remove himself from Bella's life completely. Edward states that it will be "as if he never existed." At Edward's and the Cullen's departure, Bella falls into a state of depression that is so severe that she is practically catatonic. It is only the presence of her loyal friend Jacob that pulls Bella out of her depression and forces her life into some semblance of normalcy. Bella soon finds herself becoming more and more dependent on Jacob to help her maintain her sanity in the face of such an overwhelming feeling of loss...; and Jacob happily fills the void. But it soon becomes apparent that there are strange goings on in the little town of Forks; Jacob and his friends in La Push have a big secret...that they are not divulging. And lurking on the edge of town there is a sinister presence with an axe to grind...with Bella Swann herself.

A compelling sequel that will not disappoint fans of the amazing predecessor, Twilight.

This book was a bit more intense than Twilight. It felt empty without Edward, yet Jacob was pretty satisfying. Yes, I did bite all my fingernails off while reading this book. I'll keep my eyes peeled whenever I visit Italy. :)

Wonderful and Highly Recommended
This is an amazing book that truly captures the concept of human emotions. Stephenie Meyer has a gift when it comes to making a story very down to earth and believable, even when the story itself is centered around fantasy and unreality. Meyer truly makes it so that, as you read, you feel Bella's pain and her hope and her despair, and you really feel like you have been whisked off your feet to the rainy town of Forks, Washington. Plus, there's a huge heaping of werewolves and vampires, so the magic of Twilight, the first book, continues effortlessly. Unfortunately, in this book, Edward makes his move in hopes to keep Bella safer, so there isn't much of him in the book. It's mostly Jacob. (ugh) So Edward fans may not enjoy the body of the book as much as the exposition and the ending. (yay) This is a very good book for those of you who like realistic fiction, romance, and horror. The entire Twilight series has been described as "vampire books for people who don't like vampire books", and I have to agree with them. Vampire book fans also will enjoy this book.
